Does Being Taller Get You Further In Life?

Being tall has it’s advantage. No doubt about it. If you want to be a professional basketball player then being tall is one of the requirements. In fact, in most sports being tall will give you a massive advantage over your opponents. In the sport called life, being tall also has it’s advantages although it’s a lot less obvious than on the sports field.

Whether we want to or not, we are all programmed to react and respond to people in certain ways. Most of our reactions happen unconsciously. We often look down on people because of an automatic response inside of us. Many research studies have proofed conclusively that attractive women get further in life. Guys simply cannot help but to respond to them in a certain way. For guys the scenario is slightly different. We don’t progress so much based on how attractive we are, but rather on our overall appearance and how much respect we can command with that instantaneous appeal.

Your height and how tall you are plays a very important part in that first reaction that you get from people. Being short can be a major disadvantage. Not because people discriminate against you, but rather because people unconsciously react to you and your overall appearance.

From the youngest age, short guys get teased and harassed because the taller an bigger kids see an opportunity to dominate. To make this even worse, the taller kids tend to be better at sports and therefore get more attention – especially from girls.

The question is then how much opportunity are you missing out on in life because you are short? How many crappy jokes did you have to endure just because you are not as tall as all the other guys? It can be a pretty rough ride and for this very reason short guys are often the ones with the most explosive tempers. Shorty jokes can really hit where it hurts most.

Despite your genetic make-up and all the given factors, you can still increase your height and get taller. You can grow taller. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t stop growing after puberty. During puberty we all have a growth spurt, but for some it misfires. The rapid rate of growth stops short and we end up not growing as much as we should.

There are numerous treatments available for growing taller. Some are more costly than others, but many of the most effective ones are quite simple. Spinal correction itself can account for as much as 5 inches of instant growth and is something that you need to look into. Apart from that hormone treatments can be effective along with yoga and other more advanced techniques to elongate your body. Some are not that safe, so researching it properly before you start is very important.
